Description Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is seeking a Software Engineer in Dallas, TX. In this role, you will develop and maintain embedded software applications and/or desktop applications. Tasks will involve requirement, design, code, test, and integration of software for an embedded multi‑core system as well as desktop computer applications for emulation of sensors and countermeasures. The successful candidate will have training in C/C++, prior experience in GUI development, experience with Linux OS, and previous intern experience.

Security and Clearance Requirements Candidates filling this position will need a US citizen and a clearance at the level specified in “Clearance Level” or the ability to obtain one if not specified. In addition, the candidate may need approval to work on a Special Access Program (SAP) prior to start of employment.

Basic Qualifications

BS or MS degree from an accredited university in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or a related major.

Ability to obtain DoD clearance.

Must be a US Citizen.

Demonstrated proficiency in C/C++.

Experience with Linux, Windows, or a similar operating system.

Desired Skills

Embedded software experience (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone, robotics, UAV, automated pattern recognition, etc.).

Git pipeline knowledge (GitLab preferred, GitHub also acceptable).

Multi‑core and multi‑threaded C++ programming.

Hardware/Software integration.

Experience working in a large code base.

Agile/Scrum practice.

Security Clearance Statement This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level Secret.

Ability to Work Remotely Onsite Full‑time: The work will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules Lockheed Martin supports various alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility. Schedules range from the standard 40‑hour week to condensed schedules, which give employees additional time away from the office on top of Paid Time Off benefits.

Schedule for this Position 4×10‑hour day, 3 days off per week.

Experience Level 4 years and up, college‑educated.
