What are we looking for in a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner? Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners at Comprehensive are part of a multidisciplinary team that provides integrated behavioral health treatment to clients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Collaborating with therapists, case managers, nurses and other members the treatment team, Nurse Practitioners assist in the development of an individualized treatment plan for each client. Taking ownership of the pharmacological intervention, Nurse Practitioners complete psychiatric evaluations, prescribe appropriate medications, and provide general medical counseling and referrals. Our medical provider team has the opportunity to meet monthly to staff cases and receives regular supervision from the Chief Medical Officer. In this role, strong communication skills, the desire to work in a collaborative team environment, and the ability to establish trusting relationships with clients will be essential.
This position will serve adults and senior adults receiving treatment in outpatient and residential treatment facilities. This role will require local travel approximately 1 day per week. Positions require participation in the rotation for weekend rounding and after-hours call coverage for additional compensation.
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner duties may include:
Completing initial psychiatric evaluations and assessing mental health & physical health status at routine appointments
Prescribing & monitoring psychotropic medications and educating clients & their support system about the medication’s purpose, appropriate dosage, and possible side effects
Collaborating with each client to create an individualized treatment plan
Educating staff, clients, and other community partners about individual mental health needs
Following trauma-informed principles in all aspects of client care
Assessing clients for safety and risk to self or others, and taking appropriate crisis intervention measures when indicated
Completing all documentation & charting in a timely, client-centered manner
Participating in on-call and rounding rotations for our inpatient facilities in Yakima
Providing treatment via telehealth to other clinics as needed
Schedule
Monday- Friday 8AM-5PM
Pay Range: $74.04-$111.06 per hour
Qualifications
Master's or doctoratedegree in nursing or nursing practice with psychiatric mental health specialization
Two years of experience as a psychiatric prescriber for the designated age group being served
Registered Nurse license and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner license in Washington
Federal DEA registration
First Aid & CPR certification
Must have valid driver's license and vehicle liability insurance
Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide documentation upon hire or be approved for a qualified medical or religious exemption prior to starting work
