Join a fast‑paced aerospace manufacturing environment where your supply chain expertise will directly impact high‑profile programs. In this role, you’ll purchase materials and services to achieve continuous improvement of supplier delivery performance, quality enhancements, cost reductions and assist operations to meet plant objectives. The scope includes management of procuring components, which may include direct and indirect material, services and capital investment. You’ll lead the purchasing team in a coordinated effort to manage exceptions and achieve department, plant, division and individual goals. The Senior Buyer may also assist in training/mentoring other team members to improve their skill sets.

Responsibilities

Identify, champion and implement key purchasing initiatives to achieve business goals based on safety, cost, quality, delivery, inventory and people.

Coordinate sourcing strategies and supplier rationalization initiative with Commodity Management team to ensure division, plant, and team goals are achieved.

Participate in problem‑solving efforts to resolve rejections (MRB) and supplier corrective action teams: working with SPQM team.

Coordinate material requirements with production schedules, customer requirements and provide feedback to scheduling and management.

Ensure compliance with applicable contract flow‑downs (FAR, DFAR, ITAR, etc.).

Negotiate all commercial disputes with suppliers to include pricing, obsolescence claims, quality cost impact, etc.

Coordinate purchasing efforts with Customer Service, all Engineering departments, Manufacturing, Materials Management, New Product Development and Quality Assurance.

Be an active participant of a cross‑functional High Performance Work Team when required.

Understand quality system processes that include a working knowledge of counterfeit prevention policies and procedures.

Work with suppliers to develop continuous improvement plan in regards to On Time Delivery (OTD) and Defects Per Parts per Million (DPPM).

Define problems and eliminate root causes creating supply chain solutions for process improvements.

Lead special projects and organizational development plans as directed by Senior Leadership.

Possess sound knowledge and applications skills of the value stream chain process; and possess strong ability to analyze and interpret cost drivers when developing cost‑out strategies.

Assist in other duties as assigned by Supply Chain Manager or the area supervisor.

Regular, predictable attendance is required.

Must be willing to work overtime as necessary.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field required.

3-5+ years of Supply Chain experience

Strong experience with an ERP system; must be proficient with SAP.

Strong technical expertise to facilitate discussions with suppliers and engineering required.

Ability to manage the subcontractor supply chain is required.

Ability to apply analytical and problem‑solving skills, which includes a strong knowledge of supply chain and purchasing problem‑solving tools.

Strong negotiation skills required.

Must be capable of multi‑tasking and prioritizing workload.

Ability to travel to suppliers to resolve delivery and commercial issues.

This position requires compliance with ITAR regulations (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee status).
