We Are Looking For The Senior Buyer is a key contributor within the Purchasing organization, responsible for managing the full procurement lifecycle while driving operational excellence, supplier performance and cost optimization. In addition to performing all core buying functions, this role will take on elevated responsibilities related to special projects, strategic initiatives and process improvements that support organizational growth and long‑term supply‑chain maturity. The Senior Buyer will serve as a critical partner to cross‑functional teams, lead sourcing initiatives, analyze spend and demand trends and support continuous improvement efforts across the supply base and internal processes.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

Manage day‑to‑day purchasing activities including requisition review, PO creation, order placement, confirmation, expediting and delivery follow‑up.

Maintain an accurate and clean Purchase Order (PO) book, ensuring up‑to‑date dates, acknowledgements and order statuses.

Execute sourcing decisions in alignment with approved supplier lists, quality requirements and cost targets.

Evaluate supplier quotes, negotiate pricing and terms and secure optimal commercial outcomes.

Review historical demand and future forecasted requirements to determine optimal purchasing quantities, price breaks and replenishment strategies.

Collaborate with Planning, Quality and Operations to resolve material shortages, quality holds, NCRs, schedule changes and other supply‑related issues.

Monitor supplier performance (OTD, quality, responsiveness) and elevate risks as needed.

Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

Lead or support cross‑functional strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier transitions and new supplier qualifications.

Support the development and rollout of purchasing tools & process enhancements.

Own special projects assigned by the Purchasing Director such as supply‑chain risk assessments, inventory optimisation initiatives and performance dashboards.

Assist in developing procurement strategy, category strategies and long‑range material planning improvements.

Mentor and provide guidance to other buyers on best practices, processes and analytical methods.

Serve as point‑of‑contact for critical suppliers or high‑visibility programmes requiring elevated ownership and strategic oversight.

What You Bring (Qualifications & Skills)

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering or related field (or equivalent work experience).

5+ years of purchasing or supply‑chain experience, ideally in a manufacturing or technical industry.

Proven negotiation skills and ability to secure competitive commercial results.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess data, identify trends and make business‑driven recommendations.

Experience managing supplier relationships, resolving escalations and leading cross‑functional initiatives.

Solid understanding of purchasing processes, MRP/ERP systems and inventory management fundamentals.

Excellent communication, relationship‑building and project‑management skills.

High sense of ownership, accountability and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.

Certifications such as CPM, CPSM, APICS or similar are a plus.

Special Requirements

U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) or asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) required.

ITAR requirement.
