Product Development & Sourcing Associate - Home Textiles
Base pay range
$80,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr
A growing home textiles company serving major mass market and off-price retailers is seeking a Product Development & Sourcing Associate to support end-to-end development, sourcing, and execution. The ideal candidate has strong factory communication skills, understands fast-paced product development calendars, and can balance cost, quality, and speed to market.
Key Responsibilities
Support full-cycle product development for high-volume home textiles programs primarily in bedding and bath.
Assist in sourcing materials and finished goods across a global vendor network; identify new factories to support aggressive pricing and margin targets.
Communicate daily with overseas factories to clarify specs, request samples, negotiate costs, and resolve production issues quickly.
Review and interpret specs, packaging requirements, and construction details to ensure products meet customer and retailer standards.
Work closely with Sales and Production teams to align assortments with retailer-specific pricing tiers, margin goals, and compliance requirements.
Track samples, approvals, testing, and all development milestones; maintain accurate documentation for each retailer program.
Analyze cost breakdowns and negotiate competitive pricing that meets strict mass-market and off-price cost structures.
Ensure products meet all required testing, compliance, and quality benchmarks for major retailers (e.g. TJX, Ross, Burlington, etc.).
Support line reviews and customer presentations with accurate specs, costing, and sample readiness.
Qualifications
1-2 years in product development or sourcing within home textiles, specifically for mass market or off-price retailers.
Strong understanding of high-volume production, costing, and retailer packaging/compliance requirements.
Proven ability to manage overseas factory relationships (China, India, Pakistan, etc.) and navigate tight development timelines.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple programs simultaneously.
Proficient in Excel and PLM; strong analytical, costing, and problem-solving skills.
