Summary of Job Duties The Tax Compliance Administrator, under the supervision of the Controller, serves as the Institutional Compliance Officer for one or more laws that affect institutional-level activities. This role is responsible for developing institution-wide tax compliance policies, maintaining relevant data and reporting, and serving as the subject matter expert on higher education tax compliance issues. The Administrator provides strategic leadership and operational oversight to ensure the institution’s compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, and communicates risk and remediation strategies to university leadership. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning

Education and/or professional experience in accounting, legal, regulatory, compliance, or public sector environments

Experience and understanding of laws and regulations affecting institutional-level activities

Experience developing and implementing policies and procedures

Experience and proficiency in compliance data management and reporting

Experience in providing consultation and resolution for policy violations

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in higher education or similar institutional settings

Familiarity with institutional risk management and remediation strategies

Experience in developing and delivering training programs

Experience with effectively communicating risk and remediation strategies to leadership

Experience with tax compliance software and tools

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial systems

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong knowledge of tax-exempt organization compliance issues

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Effective written and verbal communication skills for training and policy development

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic environment

Additional Information Salary Information: $86,355 Commensurate with education and experience
