This position of Admission Counselor is an integral part of Carroll University’s enrollment staff, which requires an enthusiastic, high‑energy individual, who is determined to see that the college’s enrollment goals are met successfully. The individual must be committed to personal attention, follow‑up, and adept at matching prospective students’ needs with Carroll offerings.

Responsibilities

Meets targeted enrollment goals through the establishment of effective recruitment strategies and relationship management.

Proactively and professionally manage prospective students throughout the enrollment process. Ensures that admitted students are aware of next steps involved in matriculation and enrollment.

Manages recruitment initiatives to represent Carroll at external recruitment events; internally for the undergraduate community and within professional communities to educate individuals about graduate opportunities at Carroll University.

Assist with graduate program marketing efforts (social media, web marketing, print materials, website updates etc) and provide insight in program specific communication planning.

Perform consumer based counseling with students to show them how Carroll University can meet their needs.

Prepare application credentials for assigned graduate programs, make admission decisions in coordination with the program directors (as applicable).

Counsel applicants on the financial aid process, the college's financial aid philosophy, and financing options for graduate students.

Participate in Open House and other Admission Office events.

Conduct on‑campus interviews with prospective students.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred.

1-2 years of experience in sales/recruiting preferred.

Previous experience in private higher education undergraduate admission preferred.

Technology Skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to use University software to create & maintain student admissions records.

Human Relations Skills

Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

Client focused sense of urgency and responsiveness.

Ability to listen effectively, work independently and as part of a team.

Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Attention to detail and accuracy.

Sensitivity to the needs of students.

Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, ability, socio‑economic background, or job type.

Additional Qualifications

Must have valid driver's license and be insurable under the University's plan.

This position requires weekend and/or evening hours.

Candidates must be willing and able to support and advance the University mission.

Compliance

Employees may be required to report violations of law under Title IX and the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act).
