Primary Responsibilities
Provide guidance to clients on their rights under California disability and public retirement laws, including CalPERS, LACERA, and City of Los Angeles pension systems. Prepare and present cases before administrative agencies and trial courts, including evidentiary hearings and Superior Court. Draft clear and persuasive pleadings, briefs, and correspondence tailored to client needs. Analyze medical records, occupational injury reports, and employment documentation to build strong, evidence‑based claims. Collaborate with clients to develop individualized strategies and solutions. Manage a complex caseload independently while maintaining accountability and meeting deadlines. Required Skills & Background
Active license to practice law in California. Minimum of three years of experience in administrative law or related areas, with a preference for candidates experienced in disability retirement or public safety worker cases. Demonstrated proficiency in legal research, writing, and case preparation. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal and medical concepts to clients. Solid understanding of California public pension systems; familiarity with medical concepts and disability evaluations highly valued.
