Project Manager, Power Development

Job Summary The primary responsibility of this position is project development of battery energy storage (BESS) and large‑utility‑scale solar projects that support Entergy’s stated reliability and sustainability goals. The Project Manager oversees all stages of project development and ensures effective hand‑off to an execution team, managing project cost and schedule objectives while achieving excellence in safety and quality.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
Promotes safe behavior in accordance with Company expectations and adheres to the safety rules on the project.
Leads a project development team focused on delivering projects, understanding the requirements and contributions of critical team members and key stakeholders.
Serves as the commercial lead for projects with third‑party developers, EPC contractors and equipment suppliers, understanding contractual aspects and creating a contracting strategy with acceptable risk allocation—while delivering cost and schedule certainty and maintaining expected project economic benefits.
Coordinates efforts of project participants, including consultants and contractors.
Establishes and maintains project documentation. Provides clear, timely and accurate project status reports for management as required and prepares reports and presentations for management.
Develops projects in accordance with applicable corporate standards and guidelines, coordinating activities and associated deliverables (business case, estimates, schedules, gate review deliverables, etc.) to navigate projects through the Entergy Stage Gate Process (SGP).
Ensures previous projects’ Lessons Learned and applicable industry experience are incorporated into the project execution plan.
Manages the project in line with the project budget, implementing project controls for scope, schedule, quality, cost, cash flow, risk, contracts and communications in accordance with corporate standards.
Understands the roles of the Utility and regulators in project development and viability, working closely with regulatory functions to support the necessary certifications.
Minimum Requirements
PM – Bachelor's degree & 0‑3 years of project management experience in solar and/or energy storage; or, in lieu of degree, 5 years of project management experience in solar and/or energy storage.
Sr PM – Bachelor's degree & 3 years of project management experience in solar and/or energy storage origination and development; or, in lieu of degree, 7 years of project management experience in solar and/or energy storage origination and development.
Project management experience with a third‑party BESS and/or solar developer or EPC contractor is preferred.
Experience with MISO or other RTO is valued.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proficient in project management fundamentals.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of the development of solar generation or battery energy storage facilities.
Preferred Certifications Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
Relocation Relocation assistance is not available for this posting.
Travel Up to 25% of the time.
