ASSISTANT CASE MANAGER ("CASE AIDE")
Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS) is a social and human services agency whose mission is to successfully partner with families, caregivers, and the community to strengthen families, ensure safety, and achieve permanency for all Arizona’s children through prevention, services, and support.
Location Four office locations located throughout Maricopa East in the cities of Mesa, Gilbert, and Phoenix. Applicants may choose a specific office location during the application process.
Salary and Grade Hourly pay: $17.34 Grade: 14
Role Summary DCS Case Aides work in the field, collaborate with the Case Management Team, and provide a variety of services to families and children in various social service programs. A typical day includes supervising visitation meetings, assisting Case Managers with filing, entering case notes into the computer-based Case Management System, driving state business, assisting clients with application processes, and participating in client hearings.
Responsibilities
Supervise visitation meetings among clients (parents and children).
Assist DCS Case Managers with filing, disclosures, packets, case notes, etc.
Enter case notes into the computer-based Case Management System.
Drive on state business to transport children to appointments.
Assist clients with application processes as needed.
Participate in a variety of meetings and/or client hearings.
Alternative work hours may be required, including overtime, weekends and holidays.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of computers, software, mobile devices, digital calendars, and video conferencing.
Skill in establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships, clerical functions, data entry, verbal and written communication, eliciting information, modeling professional behavior, time management, multi-tasking, and observation.
Ability to gain knowledge of human and social services, understand and adhere to related laws and DCS policies, comply with casework principles, comprehend complex written and oral instructions, organize data logically, prepare accurate reports, actively listen, provide supportive attention to clients, and acquire and renew CPR Certification.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Valid issued driver's license.
Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Arizona state driver’s license and meet all driver training requirements.
Successfully pass a written exam, background investigation, Motor Vehicle Report check, and DCS Central Registry check.
Successfully complete E-Verify and other required training.
