Responsibilities

Supervise and manage plant operations, making key decisions on operational procedures.

Coordinate necessary repairs in line with established standards and best practices.

Ensure proper staffing levels and take appropriate action to maintain continuous steam generation.

Test water samples from various points within the water and steam systems, adjust chemical treatments as needed, and record daily water and chemical readings.

Independently and safely perform all routine and specialized tasks within the boiler plant, including equipment repairs and control adjustments.

Work Schedule and Additional Information

Full‑time employment, 40 hours per week.

Work hours are 1st shift (7:00 AM to 3:00 PM) or 3rd shift (11:00 PM to 7:00 AM), rotating days off including weekends and holidays.

Overtime and travel as needed.

No telework option.

Salary may be non‑negotiable in some cases.

Qualifications

One year of experience as a Utility Plant Operator 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title).

One year of semi‑skilled work experience in the operation, maintenance, or repair of industrial, commercial, or institutional utility plant systems and related equipment.

Or an equivalent combination of experience and training that includes six months of semi‑skilled work experience in the same area.

Class C motor vehicle license required.

Must meet PA residency requirement.

Must be able to perform essential job functions.
