As an IR Tech, you will be responsible for operating fluoroscopic equipment and assisting physicians with minimally invasive, image‑guided procedures. IR Techs will prepare and observe patients during procedures and report abnormal activity.
Tasks
Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests, and explain procedures to patients.
Assist in scrubbing for all diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Monitor patient during all procedures.
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of radiation protection standards, devices, and techniques.
Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology to interpret examination requests.
Operate intravenous (IV) and dye injector pumps.
Maintain accurate patient records.
Use the McKesson PACS system.
Qualifications
At least 1 year of recent acute care experience.
BLS, ACLS, and ARRT (R) National Certification; state‑specific licensing required if applicable.
Vascular Interventional certificate preferred.
Ability to stand/walk for long periods; flexible; strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
Additional certifications (BLS, CCI, ARRT (VI), 2 years) may be required before assignment.
