About the Position Support teaching staff in the classrooms and be available to translate via telephone or video calls to support the partnership between staff, families, and our consultants during parent meetings/conferences. This partnership will promote parents as the first and most important teachers of their children, empower advocacy for their children, and increase inclusion for all enrolled families.
Key Responsibilities
Assist teaching staff in classrooms as needed
Provide translation and interpretation services for families during meetings, conferences, and consultations via phone or video calls
Support parents in understanding educational processes and resources available
Facilitate communication that empowers families to advocate for their children
Promote a culture of inclusion, equity, and respect for diverse family backgrounds
Drive within the county to assist at multiple locations
Education and Experience
High School/GED
Verbal and written fluency in Spanish and English
Experience interpreting and/or translating English and Spanish
Valid Washington State Driver's License
Knowledge of Early Childhood Education preferred
Details
Full-time 40 hours per week
48 weeks per year
Wage $21.99 per hour for qualified applicant
