Sanitation Driver (Equipment Operator IV)

Equipment Operator IV – $22.84 per hour
Drive and operate all solid waste vehicles.
Responsibilities
Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections; report issues to supervisor.
Maintain and clean vehicles, beds, and equipment.
Operate all solid waste equipment (rear steer, front load, roll off, bulk trash, grapple).
Drive and maneuver vehicles on public roads, work sites, and in confined spaces.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Retrieve, hoist, and deliver dumpsters and bins to designated disposal sites.
Weigh trucks and separate recyclable products per SWA procedures.
Perform ADA accommodation service requirements.
Assist in emergency calls and other related duties.
Qualifications
At least six (6) years operating solid waste trucks in Residential Waste Manual and Residential Waste Bulk/Trash.
Six (6) months cross‑training in Commercial line roll‑off and front load trucks.
Valid State of Florida Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
Complete a written test on Equipment Operator IV functions.
Complete an equipment field test scoring at least 80 %.
Within 90 days of hire: 30‑Hour OSHA General Industry Card; FEMA IS‑552; FEMA IS‑558; Lock‑Out/Tag‑Out Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications Bulk trash rear steer experience.
Physical & Sensory Requirements Heavy lifting (25–50 lb), occasional up to 75 lb; exposure to adverse environmental conditions; ability to communicate orally.
