Job Summary
The Ira lab is seeking a Research Technician II to oversee general lab ordering, organization, and perform experiments related to the lab's exploration of DNA recombination processes. This part‑time position (16 hours/week, Monday‑Friday 8:00 am‑5:00 pm) is needed immediately to complete the aims of the grant.
Responsibilities
Orders and maintains an inventory of lab supplies.
Maintains a clean and organized workspace.
Documents results of experiments.
Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in molecular genetics, molecular biology, and deep sequencing.
Experience handling yeast cells, constructing mutant strains, and using CRISPR/Cas9 methods to induce point mutations.
Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and sterilization techniques.
Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
Work Authorization Requirement This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout the duration of employment.
