Offer Description We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled
Laboratory Technician
to join the research group led by Dr. Mar Albà at Hospital del Mar Research Institute. Our lab has recently identified a large set of previously unannotated, potentially novel genes in Saccharomyces cerevisiae using deep RNA-seq and Ribo-seq experiments. The successful candidate will play a central role in experimentally characterizing these genes by generating and validating gene knockout mutants across multiple yeast strains.
Main Tasks
Construct gene deletion mutants (homologous recombination)
Yeast transformations, PCR validation, sequencing
Growth assays under stress conditions
Maintain strain/plasmid collections and lab records
Requirements
Bachelor’s/Master’s in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology or similar
Practical experience with Saccharomyces cerevisiae or microbial genetics
