Job Title Physician – Board Certified – Full Time – WCGRH
Location 3000 Schatulga Road, Columbus, GA
Salary $225,000 Annual
Job Summary Under general supervision, provides comprehensive medical services by examining patients, diagnosing conditions and providing treatments. Directs nurses, aides and others in the care and treatment of patients.
Responsibilities
Supervising staff including physician assistants and nurse practitioners
Refers patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary
Advises patients on health care including health promotion, disease, illness and accident prevention
Coordinates work with nurses, social workers, rehabilitation therapists, pharmacists, psychologists and other health care providers
Directs and coordinates activities of nurses, students, assistants, specialists, therapists, and other medical staff
Examines patients, takes histories, orders laboratory tests, X‑rays and other diagnostic procedures and consults with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients’ physical and mental health
Prescribes or administers treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury
In the EMR system, completes all orders and documents all evaluations, notes treatment, and plans within prescribed time frames and according to established guidelines
Consults with referring M.D. as needed
Provides emergency medical care
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Medical degree recognized by the Georgia Composite Medical Board (GCMB) and licensure or license‑eligible to practice medicine at a state institution or in the state of Georgia as provided by state law. Physician must be Board Eligible.

Preferred Qualifications
Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
Experience in treating persons with serious and persistent medical illnesses, and in providing care as leader and member of an interdisciplinary treatment team
Experience working with consumers in adult mental health, addictive disease, and forensic psychiatry
