Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in an acute care setting with strong communication skills and a current TX or compact state RN license. Responsibilities
Work in a 24-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit within an acute care hospital Patient population includes CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, CKD, and medical-surgical telemetry cases Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:6 Utilizes CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen therapy 12-hour day shifts from 6:30am to 7:00pm Every other weekend and holiday coverage is required Floating to all med/surg units is expected Tele monitor techs are present, but RNs must be able to read telemetry strips EMR system is an unspecified computerized system Supportive team includes charge nurse, house supervisors, nurse educators, and PCTs with a 12:1 ratio Department-specific orientation is provided Navy blue scrubs are required RNs must not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit-associated facility in the past year to be eligible Requirements
Active TX or compact RN license required at time of application Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required Current BLS certification required Ability to read telemetry strips is required Excellent communication and time management skills needed Submission must include a copy of driver's license Two professional references: one supervisor within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor within the past 3 years Benefits
