The

Rochester Midland Corporation , a leading manufacturer and global supplier of specialty chemicals, is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to plan, organize, direct and control the Aurora Illinois production operations in the plant, including the planning, scheduling, training and monitoring of activities and personnel, as assigned. The successful candidate will be on the floor as a working supervisor (hands on), collaborative with other departments, computer literate, and communicates well. A chemical manufacturing background is preferred.

Base pay range $82,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr

Essential Job Functions

Supervise assigned production personnel, including but not limited to participating in hiring and training of employees, recommending disciplinary actions, participating in performance reviews, and approving and managing timecards and PTO requests

Coordinate with other Company personnel to schedule production activities and help resolve problems

Complete daily safety meetings with direct reports – Safety First!

Ensure all required safety training courses for the team are completed within the scheduled time frame

Complete cycle counts and keep prod/prod 1 locations clean of lingering product/chemical

Investigate discrepancies from packaging team and close finished batches in Vicinity program

Put away raw and finished goods inventory

Receive inbound material that arrived late on the day shift

Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas

Perform similar duties as assigned

Education / Special Licenses Or Certification

Forklift Certification; Train the Trainer experience teaching forklifts preferred

Leadership or Management training required

Experience

5+ years in a manufacturing or distribution environment showing progressive learning abilities

3+ years management experience required

Experience with ERP systems and inventory processes required

Chemical Manufacturing preferred

Experience with small packaging, liquid packaging, filling lines, blending preferred

Skills

Working level knowledge of ERP and Manufacturing Software, Microsoft GP or Vicinity Manufacturing Software required

Good with computers – proficient with Microsoft Office

Ability to use a scanner to conduct inventory transactions, Highjump experience required

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

Will be working in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment

Lifting of 50lbs may be required

Sit or stand for extended periods of time

Visual acuity necessary to utilize a computer monitor throughout the course of a normal workday

Ability to perform repetitive keyboarding activities and operate general office equipment

Extra hours and some travel may be required
