Overview
Seeking a Field Service Engineer who thrives in fast-paced industrial environments and is comfortable traveling 100% of the time, often spending several weeks on assignment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, solving complex equipment issues, and supporting customers through installation, troubleshooting, and system optimization. Must have experience working on dryers, blenders, extrusion machines, and conveyors.
Responsibilities
Perform onsite troubleshooting, repairs, and warranty service on industrial equipment
Program and debug PLCs using ladder, STL, and structured control languages
Lead implementation and commissioning of PLC/HMI upgrades and process control systems
Analyze system and equipment performance to identify root causes and recommend improvements
Install electrical equipment and controls using detailed drawings, diagrams, and specifications
Work with robotics, automation systems, and vision technology
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, engineering notes, and technical manuals
Support customers with safe operation, configuration, and maintenance of industrial machinery
Collaborate with internal teams to validate designs, conduct testing, and ensure systems meet end-user needs
Requirements
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with hands-on maintenance and repair experience
Solid knowledge of PLCs, robotics, industrial controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems
Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation
Skilled in diagnosing faults, replacing components, and restoring equipment to safe operation
Comfortable operating, servicing, and troubleshooting large machinery and production equipment
Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work independently in the field
Familiarity with vision systems, CNC equipment, and automation technologies
Valid driver’s license; forklift certification and journeyman electrician credentials are a plus
Ability to travel continuously and remain on assignment for extended periods
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S., without current or future requirements for sponsorship of an employment-based visa status.
