Position Summary: Professional Staff - Public Safety (Regular, Professional Staff – Public Safety, Position Type: Regular, Sponsorship Available: No; Work Shift: Day Shift). Job Duties: Works under the general supervision of the Chief of Police and the direct supervision of the Sergeant. Responsible for enforcement of traffic control, criminal laws, and parking regulations. This position is governed by the Arkansas Law Enforcement Standards and UAMS Policies.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma / GED required.

Be at least 21 years of age.

Current and valid Arkansas driver’s license.

Be certified by the Arkansas Law Enforcement Standards Training Academy as a Police Officer or become certified within one year of employment (possibility of a one-year extension).

Able to pass a medical physical examination.

Able to pass a psychological examination.

Ability to walk 8 to 12 miles in an 8-to-12-hour shift.

Ability to climb stairwells.

Salary: $44,500.00 - $57,700.00
