Do you love connecting with people and sharing your passion with others? We are looking for a Senior Arts and Sciences Camp Counselor to join our team at the Y! We spend our days positively impacting the summer camp community around us, helping children reach their potential, setting age‑appropriate goals, and changing lives in our Y community.
What is needed for this job
At least 18 years old
High school graduate or equivalent
Or enrolled in a minimum of 2 years of child development coursework approved by state licensing requirements
Experience working with children and at least two seasons as a Y Camp Counselor or in a comparable program
Enthusiasm, sense of humor, and patience
The responsibilities we will trust you with
Supervise campers and plan camp activities; actively participate to encourage participation
Ensure all campers can participate in all activities, regardless of varied abilities
Identify, address, and correct inappropriate behavior
Maintain appropriate behavior of campers and staff to avoid the risk of accidents
Assist in maintaining effective communication with parents/guardians regarding camper and camp activities
Embody the GPY commitment to diversity and inclusion, no matter race, color, creed, or gender identification
