Duties

Utilize Everbridge Critical Event Management Platform (ECEMP) and other critical event management software to create incident workflow intelligence for specialty teams.

Monitor all risk activity of Law Enforcement emergencies and medical emergencies.

Operate communication devices and equipment to communicate with and dispatch emergency response teams.

Launch mass communication notifications to individuals or groups to keep them informed before, during and after critical events and emergencies.

Record and maintain communication logs, radio transmissions, and other significant telephone situations.

Receive and transmit emergency calls and route to proper units/teams.

Requirements – Conditions of Employment

U.S. Citizenship is required.

Selectee must pass all pre‑employment requirements before appointment.

Males born after 12/03/59 must be registered for Selective Service.

Selectee may be required to serve a one‑year probationary period.

Applicant must obtain and maintain a Secret clearance (background investigation and ANACI).

Applicant must complete Emergency Medical Dispatcher Certification Course within one year of appointment.

Applicant must successfully attain and maintain Department of Justice National Crime Information Center qualification.

Applicant must immediately initiate GPO’s Emergency Notification System.

Agency may require overtime when needed.

Applicant is considered mission essential.

Failure to meet any condition constitutes grounds for removal.

Qualifications To qualify for the Emergency Services Dispatcher (PU‑2151‑7), you must have:

At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the PG‑05 level in the Federal Service, or comparable experience in the private sector, including: Processing information into incident‑support databases.

Maintaining communication logs and summary reports.

Using dispatching procedures and equipment to dispatch police, fire, medical, etc., to emergencies.

Using Everbridge Critical Event Management Platform (ECEMP) to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Experience may include paid, unpaid, and volunteer work (e.g., National Service programs).

Education:

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience is not allowed for this grade level.
