Location: USA – Chantilly, John Mosby Hwy, Va. Division: Solutions. Time Type: Full Time.
Position Summary: The Warehouse Operator is responsible for operating a forklift and other material handling equipment for the purpose of shipping, receiving, and picking. Activities include loading/unloading, scanning, moving, staging, replenishing, and stacking product. The operator counts and inspects products, reports damages or discrepancies, and ensures safe and efficient operation of all equipment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Shipping Responsibilities
Use a gas or electric powered forklift to load outbound shipments, move product, and stack materials.
Accurately load orders according to appropriate doors and trailers.
Process all shipping functions as defined by the Standard Operating Procedures.
Receiving Responsibilities
Use a gas or electric powered forklift to unload inbound shipments, move product, replenish, stack, and store items.
Accurately locate and place products in the appropriate storage areas.
Process all receiving functions as defined by the Standard Operating Procedures.
Picking Responsibilities
Use a forklift to accurately pick orders to fulfill client demands.
Stage, package, band, shrink wrap, and label product(s) as required by client specifications.
Process all picking functions as defined by the Standard Operating Procedures.
Quality Control Responsibilities
Use appropriate documentation to ensure all products and orders are received, handled, and shipped correctly.
Verify that products meet quality standards and report any damages or discrepancies.
Process all quality control functions as defined by the Standard Operating Procedures.
Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance
Execute all safety protocols and complete job tasks in a safety‑promoting manner.
Maintain a clean, orderly work area and assist in warehouse security.
Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site‑specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS Standards.
Equipment Operation
Operate equipment such as sit‑down, stand‑up, reach truck, sweeper scrubber, scissor lift, cherry picker, Aisle Master, or pallet jack.
Maintain equipment, report problems, and perform daily inspections and minor maintenance.
Operate all equipment safely and efficiently following prescribed work methods.
Maintain an active forklift certification.
Maintenance
Assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
Other Duties
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Work overtime as dictated by business needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities
None.
Minimum Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
6 months of experience in a logistics/distribution environment.
Ability to operate material handling equipment.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations
Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.
Other
Able to work in unregulated temperatures ranging from mild to moderate during warmer and colder months.
Skills, Knowledge And Abilities Computer Skills
Basic computer skills.
RF Scanners.
WMS functions.
Language Skills
English (reading, writing, verbal).
Mathematical Skills
Basic to intermediate level for verifying quantities and inventory.
Other Skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
Adaptability to change in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
1–3 years of experience in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment.
1–3 years of forklift experience.
Current or prior MHE certification.
Physical Demands
Handling/Fingering, Sitting – Occasionally.
Bending – Frequently.
Walking and Standing – Constantly.
Lift/carry/push/pull 21–50 pounds; reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel.
Work Environment
Low to moderate noise; limited exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
