Job Overview Incumbents repair, prime, paint and generally maintain a variety of airfield surfaces such as runways, taxiways, ramps, parking lots, and signs. The role involves inspecting, preparing, and painting airfield runways, taxiways, and ramps; operating stripers, sandblasters, forklifts, mowers, trucks, and construction equipment; and maintaining painting equipment.

Responsibilities

Inspect, repair, prime, and paint airfield surfaces (runways, taxiways, ramps).

Prepare surfaces for painting and lay out/stripe parking lots and roadways.

Operate highway stripers, sandblasters, forklifts, mowers, trucks, and construction equipment.

Place temporary walls, repair perimeter fences, and stripe roadways.

Repair and maintain painting equipment; build forms and finish concrete.

Clear runways, taxiways, and ramps of snow and ice with snow blowers, plows, and jet brooms.

Perform other duties as assigned and be available for varying shifts—including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Qualifications

Minimum one year of experience in maintenance and repair of airport runways, taxiways, and ramps, including priming, painting, and marking.

Must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class B) with Passenger Bus and Tank Vehicle endorsements while employed.

Valid driver’s license at time of application and upon request.

Will undergo a ten‑year background investigation in accordance with FAA regulations.

Physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and to perform tasks requiring stoop, kneel, bend, twist, and climb.

Excellent verbal and mathematical aptitude to interpret work orders, inventory sheets, and blueprints.

Compensation & Benefits Salary: $50,752 - $72,202 per year. Position Grade: 36T.

Full‑time (Permanent) position based at St. Louis Lambert International Airport.

If assigned to the airport, may be eligible for a commuting allowance of $180 bi‑weekly.
