PRN Registered Nurse (RN)

Overview Texas Oncology is looking for a PRN Registered Nurse to join our team! This position will support the Austin Midtown clinic at 901 West 38th Street. The typical work hours of this clinic are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with no weekends or holidays. The position will be either a Level 1 or Senior based on candidate work experience.

Responsibilities
Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding current status and medical history.
Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional material.
Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record the information in the patient chart.
Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals, and future appointments for patients.
Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient’s chart.
Facilitate communication between patient/family and the interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care.
Assist patients in locating available community resources.
Interprofessional collaboration.
Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
Willing to consider an entry, mid, or senior level candidate.
Current RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
