Job Overview Maintenance Technician located in the Engineering Laboratory, Stewartsville, NJ. Reports to the Engineering Technical Lead.

Responsibilities

Routine Maintenance: Perform regular inspections, adjustments, and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment and machinery operate effectively.

Repairs: Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Equipment Setup and Calibration: Set up and calibrate machinery and equipment to meet operational standards.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and ensure maintenance work complies with health and safety standards.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and replacements, including parts and labor costs.

Emergency Response: Respond to equipment breakdowns and system failures swiftly, minimizing downtime.

System Upgrades: Recommend and implement upgrades or replacements for outdated or faulty systems.

Collaboration: Work with other departments (e.g., production, engineering) to address maintenance issues and improve efficiency.

Inventory Management: Keep track of parts, tools, and equipment inventory, ordering supplies as needed.

Time Management: Maintain records and logs; prepare charts and graphs, and log all time in Victaulic’s scheduling software.

Continuous Improvement: Support continuous improvement in the lab in accordance with Lean Initiatives.

5S: Maintain an efficient, professional, organized, and clean work area in the lab environment in accordance with Lean initiatives.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred).

Relevant certification or technical training in maintenance, electrical systems, or mechanical engineering.

Experience in a maintenance technician role or similar capacity.

Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and mechanical skills.

Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and machinery.

Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Willingness to travel and valid driver’s license.

Work Environment

Exposure to various weather conditions and hazardous materials.

Ability to lift heavy items, stand for extended periods, and work in confined spaces.

Preferred Skills

Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

Experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems.

Forklift operation certification (if applicable).
