Position Summary The Postdoctoral Researcher in Manufacturing and AI will support the advancement of convergent research at the intersection of artificial intelligence and manufacturing. The position includes managing ongoing projects, mentoring students, developing grant proposals, conducting research, building collaborations, and disseminating results. This 18‑month position will end May 2026.

Responsibilities

Project Management:

Oversee day‑to‑day operations of ongoing research projects, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met; coordinate with team members; monitor outcomes and adjust plans as necessary.

Student Mentorship (20% of time):

Mentor undergraduate and graduate students, provide guidance on research methodologies, experimental design, data analysis, and professional development.

Proposal Development (15% of time):

Identify funding opportunities; collaborate with faculty and staff to prepare proposals; draft technical objectives and methodologies for AI and manufacturing projects.

Research and Innovation:

Conduct independent research in AI applications within manufacturing; identify emerging trends; develop new research initiatives, including interdisciplinary collaborations.

Collaboration and Networking:

Engage with academic, industry, and government partners; present findings at conferences; represent the project in professional forums.

Publication and Dissemination:

Prepare and submit research papers to peer‑reviewed journals and conferences; collaborate with team to publish results.

Qualifications Preferred: PhD in Engineering or related field.
