We are seeking an experienced
Controller with construction accounting experience
to manage and oversee the financial operations of our growing construction company. This role requires a strong understanding of
job cost accounting, WIP reporting, and construction financial controls .
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain
Work-In-Progress (WIP) reports
Manage
job cost accounting , over/under billings, and cost-to-complete
Maintain the
General Ledger , journal entries, and month-end close
Perform
bank and credit card reconciliations
Produce monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
Work closely with Project Managers on project financial performance
Oversee AP/AR, progress billings, and retainage
Support budgeting, forecasting, audits, and lender reporting
Required Qualifications
5+ years of construction accounting experience
(required)
Strong knowledge of
WIP, job costing, and revenue recognition
Experience with construction accounting software
Proficient in Excel and financial reporting
High attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
CPA or CMA (preferred, not required)
Heavy civil, roadway, or utility construction experience
Experience working with bonding companies and lenders
Construction accounting experience is required.
