Job Description The OSP Construction Manager leads and manages a team of employees and subcontractors responsible for executing outside plant (OSP) construction projects. This position coordinates all field construction activities, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards. The Construction Manager works closely with the Project Manager to forecast construction timelines, allocate resources, resolve challenges, and ensure customer expectations are met throughout each project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Maintain a safe working environment and ensure all safety standards and regulations are met.
Oversee daily construction field operations, including in-house crews, subcontractors, and inspection activities.
Coordinate and schedule field activities and resources in collaboration with the Project Manager to complete assigned scopes of work.
Forecast construction start and completion dates, identifying and mitigating issues that may cause delays.
Report project challenges or risks to the Project Manager and propose corrective actions to maintain schedule adherence.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with customer specifications.
Manage and oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring quality workmanship, compliance, and timely delivery.
Source and evaluate local vendors and subcontractors, ensuring proper licensing and adherence to project standards.
Demonstrate consistent attention to quality construction practices and ensure timely closeout and documentation of projects.
Monitor construction progress and financial performance; maintain accurate reports and documentation.
Uphold ITG’s commitment to safety and quality across all construction operations.

Field safety performance and adherence to OSHA/ITG safety standards.

Exposure
Primarily field-based role with frequent travel to project sites.
Exposure to outdoor elements, construction hazards, and varying weather conditions.
Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to all ITG and OSHA safety policies.
May include after-hours or weekend work based on project demands.

Ability to drive to and from job sites across multiple locations and regions.
Visual acuity to read construction drawings, maps, and digital screens.
Manual dexterity required for operating tools, equipment, and standard office technology.
Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, including hard hat, safety vest, gloves, and protective eyewear.
Education
High School Diploma or GED required.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of direct experience managing or supervising OSP construction or telecommunications infrastructure projects.
Demonstrated experience leading field teams and coordinating subcontractor activities in a project-based environment.
Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards.
Experience in utility pole line construction, permitting, and field inspections strongly preferred.
Prior experience in cost estimation, scheduling, and vendor management required.
