User Services Assistant I
Position Title: User Services Assistant I | Requisition Number: H01960P | Position Category: Hourly/Work Study | Campus Location: Weber State University - Ogden, UT | Hours per week: Up to 20 | Months per year: 12 | Alternate work schedule: Yes | Pay Grade: Salary | Hourly Pay Rate: $11.75
Position Overview: This is a student employee position in the Ogden campus library. The User Services Assistant maintains a welcoming and organized environment for all library users and assists with access to resources.
Responsibilities
Providing general help and information.
Maintaining and organizing the collection; assisting with stacks projects including inventory, shifting, and shelving.
Instructing patrons on building navigation and assisting with secured room access.
Assisting with special assignments as needed.
Delivery and pick‑up services on campus.
Conducting periodic building safety and security checks and reporting problems to supervisors.
Performing opening and closing duties/maintenance as applicable to schedule.
Required Qualifications
Must be a current WSU student enrolled in 6 undergraduate credit hours or 5 graduate credit hours during the fall and spring semesters.
Candidates must be committed to providing outstanding customer service and demonstrate good human relations, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Employees are required to take annual FERPA, Safe@Weber, and Title IX training.
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent communication skills.
Motivated.
Flexible.
Team player.
Familiar with using MS Office Suite, MS Teams, and Google Drive.
Current valid driver’s license; student drivers will be required to take and pass the Utah State Driving certification for Public and Higher Education.
Federal Work Study recipients and 50/50 eligible students are preferred.

For 50/50 eligibility, students must be enrolled full‑time and have at least a 2.0 GPA in order to qualify.
