Therapist II- School Based Outpatient Therapy
Full‑time Therapist II in the School‑Based Outpatient Therapy program at the Hampton‑Newport News Community Services Board, located in Hampton City Schools. This onsite position offers the unique opportunity to make a tangible impact on students’ lives by providing essential support and therapeutic interventions directly within schools.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with school personnel to address the mental health needs of students facing mental health challenges and co‑occurring substance‑related disorders.
Manage a diverse caseload, conduct assessment evaluations, and deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
Create and implement personalized behavioral treatment plans and engage with families to provide education and counseling as needed.
Provide clinical supervision to unlicensed therapists or graduate student interns.
Qualifications
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP) with at least 2 years of post‑graduate clinical experience in therapeutic counseling, crisis intervention, and case management.
Eligibility or approval for MCO credentialing.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport with students, families, and school personnel.
Proficiency in maintaining accurate clinical records and knowledge of Virginia’s client management guidelines and crisis intervention principles.
Eligibility to pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, DMV record check, Child Registry search, drug screening test, and employment reference checks.
