Responsibilities
Packaging, preparation, and compounding of oral medications, intravenous medications, and chemotherapy/biohazard medications.
Implementing and maintaining control procedures.
Conducting inventory management and overseeing stock control.
Ensure compliance with USP 797 & 800 at all times.
Utilize proper aseptic technique for all pharmaceutical mixing.
Order, receive, and maintain accurate medication inventory.
Coordinate with Specialty Pharmacies or manufacturers for timely deliveries of medications for infusion.
Perform routine daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning as required.
Procure and maintain supplies necessary for daily mixing operation.
Prescription order entry and processing.
Coordinate and submit prior authorizations.
Determine patient’s prescription benefits and seek appropriate financial assistance.
Assist with routing and release of prescriptions to the appropriate pharmacy.
Properly label and fill prescription drugs.
Qualifications
High School or equivalent, Post‑High School vocational/specialized training, or Graduation from a foreign school of Pharmacy.
3 or more years performing related duties as a pharmacy technician.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) preferred.
California Registered Technician required; must operate under Pharmacist Supervision.
