Job Description Classification Title: Professor of Practice
Classification Minimum Requirements: Candidates for the Professor of Practice rank shall hold the highest degree appropriate to their field or possess equivalent qualifications based on professional experience. A candidate shall be expected to demonstrate successful practical experience pertinent to the position they are being recommended and have demonstrated qualities relevant to the goals of the academic unit in which they will be employed.
Job Description: The Professor of Practice will be expected primarily to teach graduate level tax classes to LL.M. and S.J.D. students as part of UF Law's highly regarded Graduate Tax Program. This 9-month, non-tenure track position will require ongoing professional engagement in taxation, including maintaining professional credentials, and contributions to teaching, research, and service.
UF Law's Graduate Tax Program has long been one of the top tax programs in the country. The Levin College of Law administration and faculty as well as the College's substantial tax alumni base are committed to maintaining the program's national stature and, more importantly, to strengthening the tax program as the law school advances as a whole. The University of Florida, located in Gainesville, FL, is among the nation's leading public research institutions and the flagship university in the Nation's third largest state.
Expected Salary Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Required Qualifications
Hold a J.D. or LL.B. degree from an accredited law school.
Significant legal experience in the field of taxation.
National or international record of distinction in non‑academic achievement.
Demonstrated applied and practical professional experience in taxation.
Preferred
Applicants who hold a tax LL.M. degree.

The start date for the spring 2026 semester is the beginning of January.
The start date for the fall 2026 semester is mid‑August.
