Job Description The University of Florida Levin College of Law is undertaking an exciting faculty-hiring effort to cement its trajectory as a leading public law school. As part of that effort, the Levin College of Law seeks to hire several distinguished, chair-level scholars who would further enhance the College's scholarly profile. The Appointments Committee welcomes applications from candidates writing in all areas of law. Successful candidates will have strong publication records, commitment to excellence in teaching, and enthusiasm for creating a welcoming environment for all students. Candidates must also have a JD or equivalent academic degree.
Classification Minimum Requirements Candidates for this faculty rank shall be qualified for the rank of associate professor and, in addition, be a recognized national or international authority or an outstanding teacher in their field or specialization. A candidate for this rank must have a distinguished record of achievement beyond the associate professor level.
Responsibilities & Expectations
Maintain a strong publication record that demonstrates a commitment to outstanding research and scholarship.
Provide excellent teaching and contribute to a welcoming academic environment.
Engage in scholarly activities at chair‑level and advance the College's academic profile.
Deliver a job talk paper and participate in the selection process.
Required Qualifications
Hold a J.D. or LL.M. Degree from an accredited law school.
Have significant experience in teaching or practice.
Be qualified for appointment as a tenured, full professor.
Possess a publication record that manifests a commitment to outstanding research and scholarship.
Preferred Qualifications None explicitly listed; however, a demonstrated record of national or international recognition in the chosen field is strongly encouraged.
