Heavy Civil Recruiter – Northeast at LVI Associates
Base pay range $100,000.00/yr - $175,000.00/yr
Job Summary Responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Estimating Department to produce cost estimates for current and potential future construction projects. These projects span various lines of business, including:
Heavy Civil (e.g., foundations, excavations, roads, bridges, site work)
Underground Utilities (e.g., water, electric, gas, stormwater, sanitary, communications, fiber)
Pipe Rehabilitation (trenchless methods)
Guide Rail and Sign Structures
Renewable Energy (e.g., wind, solar, battery storage)
The department focuses on projects across multiple regions in the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic United States.
Essential Functions
Develop complete estimates for assigned opportunities
Create schedules to ensure timely completion of estimates
Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits
Review construction plans and understand project scope
Determine construction means and methods based on site conditions
Analyze project specifications for specific requirements
Perform quantity takeoffs
Guide and support estimating engineers in takeoffs and vendor outreach
Review and validate subcontractor quotes
Build detailed estimates including labor, equipment, crew productivity, and materials
Present estimates to senior management for review
Finalize and submit estimates by required deadlines
Minimum Qualifications and Required Skills
Degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred
8-10 years of experience in construction operations with progressive responsibility
Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings and specifications
Ability to determine construction methods and develop detailed estimates
Strong presentation and communication skills
Familiarity with estimating software (training provided if needed)
Experience with digital takeoff tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Agtek) preferred
Knowledge of scheduling software (e.g., Primavera) preferred
Advanced Excel skills preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
