Industrial Electrician Full-time job opportunity working 40 hours a week (4/10’s). No per diem and no relocation assistance.
Pay Rate: $30/hr.
The Industrial Electrician will assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Support project scope and quoting process. Lead the in-house Austin electrical crew. This is accomplished by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.
Serve as the plant’s liaison for power distribution.
Champion for plant single lines in support of plant needs.
Understand circuit loading and assist with identifying options for new loads.
Understand arc flash and assist with ensuring system and labeling requirements are sustained and improved.
Drive accuracy in single line to field labeling.
Support coordination of power distribution maintenance programs – switchgear testing, thermal imaging.
Support plant electrical maintenance repairs, proactive repairs to avoid downtime.
Serve as plant liaison for project quotes interacting with plant engineers and Austin engineers.
Supervise the Austin electrical crew, manage workload and priorities.
Code time and materials to projects and time sheets for proper accounting and cost management.
Monitor electrical supplies at the plant to ensure consumables are maintained.
Keep the shop in compliance with OSHA and plant requirements.
Assist with mechanical / millwright group labor augmentation when skills allow.
Support training for Milliken associates on power distribution and meter use.
Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components.
Troubleshoot and repair all aspects of electrical power distribution systems and control circuits.
Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures using hand and power tools.
Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
Through conduit placement, pull insulated wires through concealed areas.
Perform duties wearing required personal protective equipment.
Must be able to perform work requiring full mobility in upper and lower body, reaching overhead, working in various positions, and prolonged balance.
Qualifications Required For This Position Education:
No minimum education requirements. Journeyman preferred.
Experience:
5 – 10 years of experience in an industrial setting preferred.
Must pass pre‑employment physical and background check, as a condition of employment.
