Base pay range $85,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr
A well-established CPA firm based in Long Island is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team. This hybrid role (3 days in-office, 2 days remote) offers the flexibility to work from either their Jericho or NYC office and provides the opportunity to support a diverse client base including high-net-worth individuals, sports and entertainment businesses, and fast-growing start-ups. The firm maintains a steady 40-hour workweek year-round, even during tax season, and is proud to remain independent with no plans for acquisition or merger.
Job Function
Maintain accurate and confidential client accounts, including accrual and cash basis bookkeeping.
Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll using third‑party systems and AMS Payroll software.
Set up and manage QuickBooks accounts, including creating and maintaining the Chart of Accounts.
Generate and analyze key financial reports, such as Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements.
Prepare, review, and file W‑2s, W‑3s, and 1099s for clients.
Assist with year‑end closings and write‑ups.
Prepare sales tax workpapers and process payments through state portals.
Job Requirements
5 years of recent and relevant Accounting/Bookkeeping experience in the U.S.
CPA firm experience required.
Comfortable working in an environment with competing demands.
Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online, as well as Payroll processing.
