Company: Omni Hotels & Resorts – the Omni Nashville Hotel is a luxury hotel situated on Fifth Avenue between Demonbreun and Korean Veterans Blvd., part of the downtown Nashville destination.
Job Description: The Overnight Front Desk Supervisor ensures courteous, professional check‑in and check‑out services, maintains four‑star/four‑diamond standards, handles guest issues, and serves as Manager on Duty on certain evenings. The role provides comprehensive training, mentoring, and a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities
- Be pleasant, smile and greet all guests, using surnames when obtained.
- Be thoroughly acquainted with all overnight policies and procedures.
- Be thoroughly knowledgeable of all Front Office, Guest Services and Ideal Services Moments of Service scenarios, and execute to standard.
- Be familiar with all technical equipment related to the Front Desk.
- Be familiar with all hotel facilities and offerings.
- Understand the influence and importance of all departments on the Front Desk.
- Responsible for the training of new associates.
- Must be able to run the desk in absence of Management.
- Familiar with all reservation special packages.
- Understand all radio codes and emergency procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year Front Office or Guest Service experience required; hospitality leadership experience outside these departments may be considered.
- Ability to obtain a State of Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission server permit before date of hire.
- Previous night audit experience preferred; understanding of night audit procedures required.
- Clear verbal and written communication in English with guests, management and co‑workers.
- Ability to work cohesively with co‑workers within and outside your department.
- Strong decision‑making, prioritization, organization and follow‑up skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
- Previous OPERA experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to set priorities for the front office team and provide performance‑enhancing feedback.
- Proven leadership skills to direct, develop and motivate staff.
- Ability to teach employees importance of greeting guests and courteously solving requests.
- Physical ability to move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 30 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods or for an entire work shift.
- Requires repetitive motion, including utilizing telephone/computer for an extended period or for an entire shift.
