Adjunct Instructor – Phlebotomy Program

Schedule: Part‑time, course‑by‑course, semester basis. Primarily face‑to‑face with possibility of remote instruction.
Salary: commensurate with education and experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach developmental and/or college‑level courses, including distance‑learning courses during day, evening, weekdays and weekends.
  • Provide effective didactic and skills instruction to engage adult learners, maintaining a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Maintain student participation and performance records; hold review, remediation and office‑hour sessions.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff on curriculum development, instructional design and assessment.
  • Respond to student, staff, and partner inquiries in a timely manner; report incidents as required.
  • Participate in professional development and partner onboarding requirements.
  • Maintain professional competence, certifications, and licensure; assist in student recruitment activities.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned, including emergency declaration assistance.

Required Qualifications (KSA's)

  • Current certification as a phlebotomist (NHA, ASCP, etc.).
  • At least two years of direct patient care as a phlebotomist.
  • Combination of education and industry credentials demonstrating content expertise.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Commitment to community college philosophy and student success.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant health care field.
  • Experience teaching adult learners and/or in a community college.
  • Experience teaching online and/or hybrid courses.
  • Experience using Canvas or a similar learning management system.
  • Recent experience preparing adult students for credentialing exams.
  • Current AHA‑BLS CPR certification.
