We believe that our Delivery Professionals are the heart and soul of our business, serving as the primary ambassadors to our valued customers. We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable FULL-TIME Delivery Professional to join our team at our Hauppauge, NY Service Center.

Position Summary

Matthews International is a worldwide leader in casket manufacturing, providing the highest quality wood, metal and cremation caskets and other products to our funeral home customers. This position will be responsible for the delivery of new caskets to funeral homes in the surrounding area using company box trucks and vans.

Work Schedule: Monday – Saturday (must be available to work on Saturdays).
Shift Hours: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Our drivers are home early in the afternoon.
Starting Pay: $19.75 per hour. Pay increases available under the Union membership contract.

Job Responsibilities

• Drive truck to deliver products.
• Load trucks for delivery.
• Prepare products for delivery.
• Complete daily log book to record delivery activity.
• Unload trucks upon arrival at drop‑off location and distribution center.
• Clean warehouse according to company compliance standards.
• Put products away as necessary.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Previous delivery driver experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Must have current driver’s license (CDL is NOT required).
• Ability to pass a DOT Physical, Drug Test and MVR Check.
• Maintain a safe driving record, demonstrating responsible and cautious driving behavior.

PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Noise level in the work environment may be high.
