Junior Integration Tester and Developer Job at Saic in San Diego

Job Description

SAIC is looking for a Junior Integrated Test Engineer and Developer to support the CCS team in San Diego, CA. In this role, you will verify software used to control and monitor Unmanned Surface Vessels (USV). This work may involve testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of the UI and back-end services. You will also be required to travel to installations and provide field support.

Job Duties

• Collaborate with internal and external teams and engineers to debug, troubleshoot, and verify the capabilities of the software product.
• Create automation test suites using Python and Selenium.
• Design and code simulation programs using Python to test the software product.
• Orchestrate service containers using Docker on RHEL Linux systems.
• Maintain documentation related to the installation, use, and troubleshooting of the software product.
• Perform hands‑on integration and test exercises (remote or onsite) to investigate incidents and conduct root cause analysis.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least one year of software testing experience.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must possess an active Secret Clearance at the time of hire.
• Experience with Agile development, Bash scripting, Python, Docker, Selenium, and Red Hat Linux.
• Experience writing POR‑level test plans, reports, and installation procedures.
• Experience with ACAT 1‑3 level programs.

Desired Skills

• Experience with messaging systems or concepts such as publish/subscribe or DDS.
• Experience with unmanned vehicles, UCSMDE, UMAA, IDL, or robotics.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Field support experience in a customer‑facing environment.
• Ability to work aboard a vessel during test and integration events.

Salary

Target salary range: $40,001–$80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
