Seasonal positions will run from May 1 through October 31, 2026.
What It Takes
Wildland firefighting is physically and mentally demanding. Crews work long hours under challenging conditions and will be trained to perform in all aspects of wildfire response, including:
- Initial and extended attack operations
- Fireline construction and hose‑lay operations
- Firing and mop‑up operations
- Daily physical fitness and training exercises
- Fuels management and project work when not assigned to active fires
Crewmembers can expect to work over 1,000 hours over the course of the season.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age by April 1, 2026
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Successfully complete the NWCG Pack Test (3 mi on level ground with a 45‑lb pack in under 45 min)
Hiring Process
Application: November 17 – December 31, 2025.
Physical Agility Test: January 3, 2026 – 1.5‑mile run at Olympic Oval.
Interviews: Week of January 12, 2026.
