Service Technician (Large Construction Equipment Mechanic)

SERVICE TECHNICIAN (LARGE CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT MECHANIC) (John Deere Dealership - Large Construction & Forestry Equipment Industry)

Five Star Equipment, Northern PA and New York States, John Deere Large Construction Equipment Dealer, has an immediate opening in Kirkwood, NY.

Salary: $22 to $29 per hour, based on education and experience.

Job Type: Full Time, Exempt - Monday through Friday

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy construction or forestry equipment in the shop.
• Possess strong diagnostic and mechanical skills.
• Understand and apply root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with Service Advisor and Service Manager to provide machine information, including make/model, serial number, hour meter reading, parts used, and additional repairs needed.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience as a service technician or mechanic in heavy equipment.
• 3-5 years' troubleshooting and diagnosing issues on equipment such as John Deere, Caterpillar, Komatsu, Case CE.
• Knowledge of engine, hydraulic, and electrical systems, including electrical diagrams.
• Basic tools of the trade.
• Ability to use a laptop and software like Microsoft Office and Internet.
• Flexible working hours and ability to work in demanding environments.
• Effective communication skills and problem-solving ability with minimal assistance.
