The HR Generalist provides hands‑on support across the employee lifecycle and serves as a key point of contact for employees and managers on day‑to‑day HR needs. This is a true generalist role with responsibility for supporting payroll processing, HRIS administration, benefits administration, compliance, and talent operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
HR Support
- Serve as a primary HR point of contact for employees and managers
- Partner with HR leadership on engagement and workforce planning
Payroll Administration (Support)
- Assist with accurate and timely bi‑weekly payroll processing
- Review timecards, PTO entries, and payroll data
- Ensure compliance with California wage and hour requirements
- Partner with Finance and payroll vendors
- Respond to payroll inquiries
HRIS Administration
- Support HRIS administration and data entry
- Maintain data integrity and employee records
- Assist with reporting and auditsSupport system upgrades and improvements
- Assist with HRIS training
Benefits, Leave & Compliance Support
- Support benefits administration
- Assist with open enrollment
- Track leaves of absence
- Maintain compliant employee files
Talent Operations
- Support recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding
- Support employment law compliance
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3–5 years HR Generalist experience
- Knowledge of CA employment lawPayroll and HRIS support experience
Preferred
- Healthcare or behavioral health experience
- Knowledge of HIPAA and Joint Commission standards
