Role Overview

The Human Resources Generalist supports the full spectrum of HR activities, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, benefits, compliance, and employee relations. This role partners with leaders and employees to ensure HR processes run smoothly, projects move forward successfully, and the organization maintains a positive, inclusive, and high‑performing workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, processes, and general inquiries.
  • Support initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, recognition, and culture.
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, sourcing strategies, resume screening, interview coordination, background checks, references, and offer letters.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to develop accurate job descriptions and identify hiring needs.
  • Lead and continuously enhance new hire onboarding and orientation programs to ensure a positive and consistent employee experience.
  • Own all tasks related to payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Maintain and audit employee records in the HRIS; ensure data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and recommend best practices.
  • Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook in collaboration with HR leadership.
  • Respond to unemployment claims, garnishments, employment verifications, and other formal requests.
  • Lead and support HR projects from research through successful implementation.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a Human Resources role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; advanced HR education is a plus.
  • HR certification (SHRM‑CP, PHR) preferred, not required.
  • Strong knowledge of employment‑related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with HRIS and talent management systems or the ability to quickly learn new platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict‑resolution abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management capabilities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, professionalism, and integrity.
