Position reports to: Solutions Support Manager.

The HR Onboarding Analyst (internally known as the Employee Lifecycle Management (ELCM) Administration Analyst) is a critical role within our HR Operations team focused on supporting smooth and compliant onboarding. The analyst acts as an escalation point for HR‑related questions from employees, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, company policies, and regulations. Key responsibilities include managing background‑check and drug‑screen processes, coordinating the Rapid Hire Program, overseeing the ELCM policy review process in collaboration with external vendor Sterling, and handling Tier 2 and higher escalated tickets for the Cary HR Contact Center.

Candidates must be able to work a hybrid schedule out of the Cary, NC office.

This role contributes to the Onboarding process in the ELCM team in the US and PR, with main stakeholders being ABB US and PR employees, ELCM, and Compliance teams.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the ABB background check, drug testing, and ELCM policy review processes and supporting the I‑9 process for new hires and managers.
  • Managing the document review process for assigned policies, processes and forms and overseeing overall coordination of review.
  • Responding to or managing complex AskHR tickets and escalations to support the Cary HR Contact Center as needed.
  • Providing great customer service for ABB employees, team members, and leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; a minimum of 3 years of HR experience with 2 years in HR operations (or equivalent education and experience) required.
  • Ideal candidates have 2 years of experience managing background checks and drug screening processes.
  • Knowledge of HR processes including background check, drug screen, I‑9, and policy review programs, as well as legal and compliance requirements for background check and drug testing programs.
  • Superior Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking, methodical problem‑solving skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize work and communicate progress to stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Ability to develop and manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company, with excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Candidates must have prior authorization to work for ABB in the US.
