Summary

Nellie's Treehouse is located in Amherst, NH and is a state‑licensed childcare program. Our mission is to provide consistent, quality care for children 6 weeks to kindergarten in a program that utilizes hands‑on learning and exploration.

NEW – Nellie's is opening a second facility and is looking to employ lead, associate and assistant teachers to nurture, educate, and care for our new students. These positions will offer room for career growth and advancement.

Duties

  • Follow NH state regulations.
  • Engage and interact with families, children, and coworkers.
  • Plan and implement age‑ and developmentally‑appropriate curriculum.
  • Actively engage with students during the day.
  • Use Brightwheel to keep parents informed.
  • Be effective at managing behaviors.
  • Empower children to reach their potential.
  • Maintain consistent attendance.

Requirements

  • Lead – Minimum of 18 credits in ECE, including 3 credits in Child Growth and Development.
  • Associate – Minimum of 9 credits in ECE, including 3 credits in Child Growth and Development.
  • Assistant – High School Diploma with some experience.
  • Must be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Must pass state and FBI fingerprint and background check.
  • Must maintain 18 hours of professional development annually.

Nice‑to‑Haves

  • Good sense of humor.

About Us

Nellie's Treehouse is a family‑owned and operated child‑care/early‑learning center located on Route 101A in Amherst, NH. The program opened in 2000, serves children from 6 weeks to 5 years and has a licensed capacity of 69 students. Nellie's provides 5,000 sq. ft. of indoor classroom spaces and sits on an acre of land.

The goal of the school is to ensure the safety and well‑being of the children at all times and to encourage successful social, emotional, intellectual, & physical growth and development throughout early years. We acknowledge the importance of authentic partnerships with families, as they are children’s first teachers. We recognize each child as an individual and utilize developmentally appropriate, play‑based curriculum to promote independence and foster creativity.

The center is open from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm and has an open‑door policy. Infants and Ones are provided diapers, wipes, spring water and whole milk. Twos, Preschool, Pre‑K and K are provided breakfast, lunches and 3 snacks.
