Job Title: Solid Waste Engineer (10+ years)
Location: Cumberland, Maine
Job Summary: The Solid Waste Engineer/Project Manager, reports to a principal of the firm and participates in a diverse and dynamic portfolio of projects for commercial, municipal, and industrial solid waste clients in Maine and the northeastern United States.
Your Impact: The Solid Waste Engineer/Project Manager has an exceptional opportunity to work on a wide variety of solid waste management and civil engineering related projects.
As an SME Solid Waste Engineer/Project Manager you will be responsible for:
- Project management
- Engineering and design
- Technical reports and specifications
- Construction engineering inspection and documentation services
- Preparation of permits
- Engineering tasks to support our Cumberland, Maine, office
as well as:
- Maintaining a high level of organizational skills to keep tasks on schedule, and
- Being an integral team member and problem solver who is adept at developing practical, cost-effective solutions that serve our clients well.

Required skills and qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering or Civil Engineering, with 10+ years of experience
- Professional Engineer’s license, or willingness to obtain within one year
- Engineering design experience, including site grading, stormwater management, geosynthetics, pump and piping systems, and drafting of technical reports and specifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD software
- Experience with local, state, and federal permitting, and
- Effective oral and written communication skills are essential.
