Manager, Talent Acquisition at Commonwealth LNG
Position Summary:
The Accounting Manager will oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective management of the accounting team. The Accounting Manager will develop and maintain accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial statements. Responsibilities include intercompany accounting, gas balancing, intercompany cost allocations and the preparation of financial statements.
Key Accountabilities:
- Oversee the accounting operations of a main subsidiary with multiple levels of consolidation, while ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for the subsidiaries and the consolidated entity, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management on trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Review work and journal entries done by accounting staff.
- Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures.
- Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
- Keep accurate and detailed records that are audit ready at all times.
- Experience with midstream revenue recognition standards under ASC 606 (principal vs. agent considerations, complex contracts and situations involving non-cash consideration) required
- Experience with gas balancing and imbalance reconciliation and accounting required
- Familiarity with joint venture accounting and associated cost allocations preferred
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education, Certificates, and Licenses:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
Experience:
- 10+ years in a relevant or similar role; 3+ years of Management experience
- Oil & Gas experience required; Midstream experience strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience with consolidated financial reporting and multi-subsidiary accounting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
- Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to lead and mentor a team.
- Detail-oriented and organized with strong record-keeping skills
- Ability to handle confidential information and work independently with minimal supervision
